Kickstart Your Microelectronics Career in 2026 with Tyndall National Institute Semiconductor Summer Fellowships

Are you an Irish STEM student planning a career in semiconductors or ASIC design/verification? The Tyndall Institute and IPIC Summer Fellowship Programme offers a paid, 12 week immersive research experience that could be give you first-hand exposure to the exciting world of microelectronics and chip design.

With mentorship from award-winning researchers and access to start of the art labs, this programme is an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on skills that are highly sought after in Ireland’s semiconductor industry.

2026 Programme Highlights

  • Duration: 12 weeks (2nd June – 21st August)
  • Mentorship: Partner with senior researchers in your chosen area
  • Facilities: Access top-class labs at Tyndall National Institute, IPIC and MCCI

Who Should Apply?

The Summer Fellowship Programme is open to undergraduate STEM students in Ireland (1st–4th year) studying:

  • Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics)
  • Technology
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics

Students who have previously completed a Tyndall/IPIC/MCCI internship or are enrolled in a Masters/PhD are not eligible.
